The Transfiguration and the Radiant Glory of Mary: A Glimpse into Divine Majesty
Introduction:
Throughout the ministry of Christ, the apostles were privileged to bear witness to numerous miracles and divine manifestations. Among these remarkable scenes, the Transfiguration stands as a luminous portal, offering a profound insight into the splendor of the Lord and His heavenly dominion.
The Radiance of the Transfiguration:
Upon the summit of Mount Tabor, an extraordinary metamorphosis occurred – the Lord’s countenance radiated like the sun, while His garments gleamed with a brilliance akin to light itself. This unparalleled moment unveiled the physical reflection of Jesus’ divinity within His human form, similar to the momentary lifting of a veil.
In this instance, the profound mystery of the Incarnation was eloquently demonstrated – Jesus, both fully Divine and fully Human, intersecting the celestial and terrestrial realms. The Word of God chose to partake in our humanity, offering us the opportunity to partake in His glory.
By assuming human flesh, the heavenly Father declared of us, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased” (Mt. 17:5). Our task is simple yet profound: to heed His Voice and listen to His Teachings.
The Challenge of Recognizing Divine Workings:
Nonetheless, our inherent frailty and sinfulness can occasionally obscure our ability to perceive the divine workings in our lives. This is precisely why the Holy Spirit guides us to contemplate a perfect embodiment of this truth – the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In Her, we witness unparalleled devotion and obedience to the Lord. Conceived Immaculately, Mary was untarnished by sin. As the Mother of God, Her sanctity is unrivaled, and She is rightfully exalted as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. While Mary is not divine, She shares in the majesty of Christ in a unique and extraordinary manner.
The Splendor of Mary’s Glory:
The splendor of Mary’s glory has been evident throughout history, with various manifestations and apparitions attesting to Her celestial connection. Among these, the final apparition of Our Lady of Fatima on October 13, 1917, holds a special significance, reminiscent of the Transfiguration’s radiance.
As over 70,000 people gathered, Mary’s presence was anticipated. Following Her final message urging prayer and repentance, the clouds parted after hours of heavy rain. A breathtaking spectacle ensued – the Holy Family appeared beside a sun resembling a colossal silver disk. The sun spun and danced in the sky, casting vibrant hues that reflected upon the astonished onlookers’ attire. Remarkably, the drenched crowd now stood dry and spellbound.
Invitation to Share in Majesty:
This unmistakable sign vividly underscores the notion that Mary is enveloped in the glory of Jesus. Both Mary and Jesus extend an invitation to us – an invitation to partake in this very majesty.
All that is required of us is to heed Mary’s message and calling. Let us collectively strive for reparation, not only for our own salvation and that of our families but also for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary – a heart radiating with divine love and grace.
Conclusion:
In the end, as Mary Herself prophesied, Her Immaculate Heart will triumph. Just as the Transfiguration revealed Christ’s divine essence, Mary’s immaculately radiant heart symbolizes the triumphant culmination of God’s grace and love.
May we, like the apostles on Mount Tabor, open our hearts and minds to the radiance of Mary’s message and the invitation to share in the glorious majesty of the Lord.
