A Work of the Faith, Done for Others

An apostolate is simply a work of the Faith, done for others. The Confraternity doesn’t run programs on its members’ behalf — it is its members. These thirteen apostolates are what that looks like in practice: a rosary placed in a child’s hand, a catechism class on a Saturday morning, a wayside chapel swept and kept in good repair.

Each one is open to you, wherever you live and whatever you are able to give.

“Pray the Rosary every day, in order to obtain peace for the world.”

Our Lady of Fatima · May 13, 1917

Rooted in Seven Commitments

Every member makes the same seven commitments, wherever they live. They are personal — the foundation every apostolate grows from.

The Works of the Confraternity

Grouped into four families, so you can see at a glance where you might fit. Each is carried out by members in their own parishes and countries.

Prayer & Devotion

Our Lady asked for prayer before anything else. These works keep the Rosary in members’ hands — and place it in the hands of others.

The five-decade Rosary, prayed every day by members around the world, as Our Lady asked at Fatima.

Take part: Pray it daily — alone, with your family, or with a local group.

Giving rosaries to those who have none, and teaching them to pray it — Our Lady’s own request at Fatima.

Take part: Give rosaries in schools and parishes, or sponsor rosaries for the missions.

Guiding souls through St. Louis de Montfort’s Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary — the surest path to holiness.

Take part: Make the Consecration, then invite a friend to prepare with you.

Free rosaries, scapulars, medals, and devotional literature for all who ask.

Take part: Help pack and distribute, or request a supply for your parish.

Forming Souls

The Faith is received and handed on. These works teach sound doctrine to children, youth, and adults — and give them time apart with God.

Sound, time-tested Catholic doctrine, taught to children and adults.

Take part: Teach or assist a class — even an hour a month makes a difference.

Ongoing instruction in the Faith for members of every age, rooted in Sacred Tradition.

Take part: Join a class, or help host one in your parish.

Raising the next generation in the Faith through catechesis, devotion, and Catholic fellowship.

Take part: Mentor, chaperone, or help run youth days and camps.

Days of silence, prayer, and spiritual direction rooted in Tradition.

Take part: Attend a recollection, or help organize one for a school or parish.

Mercy & Holy Places

Charity made visible: care for the poor, the sick, and the needy — and chapels that keep Our Lady present where people live and work.

Living the works of mercy through direct service to the poor, the sick, and the needy.

Take part: Serve at outreach and feeding days, or donate goods.

Building and caring for wayside chapels and shrines that bring Our Lady’s presence into daily life.

Take part: Help build, clean, or sponsor a chapel.

Liturgy, Priesthood & Pilgrimage

Upholding the Church’s ancient liturgy, the men preparing to offer it, and pilgrimages that join prayer to penance.

Preserving and spreading the Church’s ancient Roman liturgy.

Take part: Attend, serve, or sing — and help Masses in the traditional rite continue.

Spiritual and material help for men preparing for the traditional priesthood.

Take part: Pray for vocations, or help sponsor a seminarian’s formation.

A pilgrimage uniting physical challenge with prayer and community — such as the climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, with Holy Mass offered on the mountain.

Take part: Join a climb, or sponsor a pilgrim.

Where to Start

Begin with the work you could do without changing your life to do it. The small, faithful thing kept up for years is worth more than the grand one abandoned after a few weeks.

St. Benedict House of Studies

Puma, Tanzania · Missionaries of the Holy Cross

Five seminarians have moved in and begun their life of study and prayer, with more to follow as the rooms are equipped. The first building stands, inaugurated and blessed by Bishop Athanasius Schneider — next come a second floor of classrooms and the neighboring land that will keep the seminarians’ formation safe for years to come.
